What is Blockchain?

Blockchain is a distributed ledger technology that uses cryptographic methods to link data blocks in chronological order, forming an immutable data chain.

Core Characteristics of Blockchain

1. Decentralization

There is no single control center in a blockchain network; all nodes jointly maintain the network's operation.

2. Immutability

Once data is recorded on the blockchain, it is nearly impossible to modify or delete.

3. Transparency

All transaction records are public and transparent; anyone can view them.

How Does Blockchain Work?

  1. Transaction Initiation: A user initiates a transaction
  2. Network Broadcast: The transaction is broadcast to all nodes in the network
  3. Verification & Confirmation: Nodes verify the validity of the transaction
  4. Block Packaging: Verified transactions are packaged into a new block
  5. Block Linking: The new block is added to the blockchain

Blockchain Application Scenarios

  • Cryptocurrency: Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies
  • Supply Chain Management: Tracking the entire process from production to sales
  • Digital Identity: Secure identity verification systems
  • Smart Contracts: Automatically executing contract programs

Start Learning Blockchain

If you want to gain an in-depth understanding of blockchain technology, it is recommended to start with the following aspects:

  1. Read the Bitcoin whitepaper
  2. Understand consensus mechanisms (PoW, PoS)
  3. Research smart contracts
  4. Practice using cryptocurrency wallets

Blockchain technology is changing our world, and now is the best time to learn this technology!
