I. Detailed Explanation of Grid Trading Strategy

II. How to Trade Grid on OKX — App

The Spot Grid strategy is an automated strategy that executes buy-low and sell-high within a specific price range. You only need to set the highest and lowest prices of the range and determine the number of grids to subdivide, then you can start running the strategy. The strategy calculates the buy-low and sell-high prices for each small grid, automatically places orders, and continuously buys dips and sells rallies to earn returns from market volatility.

In addition to manual Trading mode, OKX offers Strategy Trading mode where you can select Spot Grid under this mode for grid Trading.

Grid Trading operations are divided into three main steps: 1) Fund transfer; 2) Create a grid strategy; 3) Take profit or stop the strategy.

1) Fund Transfer

Before starting grid Trading, you need to transfer funds first, moving the relevant digital assets to your Trading Account.

Open the OKX app, tap the icon in the middle of the Trading page; on the new page, transfer assets from 【Funding Account】 — to — 【Trading Account】 — enter the 【Amount】 — tap 【Confirm】.

2) Create a Grid Strategy

Grid Trading creation mainly has two methods: Smart Creation and Manual Creation. You can choose the appropriate creation method based on your market outlook.

Here, we use OKB/USDT as an example to demonstrate the grid Trading process.

1. Smart Creation:Tap the switch button in the upper right corner of the Trading page, select 【Strategy Trading Mode】 — select the OKB/USDT trading pair】【Spot Grid】【Smart Creation】 — after reviewing relevant data indicators, enter the 【Investment Amount】 — tap 【Create Strategy】. The system will run with intelligently recommended grid strategy parameters. The logic for recommended parameters is: after backtesting 7-day market data, it uses a smart algorithm to recommend parameters suited to recent market conditions.

2. Manual Creation:Tap the switch button in the upper right corner of the Trading page, select 【Strategy Trading Mode】 — select 【OKB/USDT trading pair】【Spot Grid】【Manual Creation】.

On the new page, enter the 【Lowest Price】, 【Highest Price】 of your expected price oscillation range — select 【Arithmetic/Geometric】, based on your set range, determine and enter the 【Number of Grids】 — select 【Investment Coin】 and enter the 【Investment Amount】 — tap 【Create Strategy】【Confirm】.

Under 【Order Double Confirmation】, you can set 【Take-Profit Price】 and 【Stop-Loss Price】 to ensure that when the price breaks above the grid, all trading coins are sold promptly to take profit, and when the price breaks below the grid, all are sold promptly to stop the loss.

Trading Tips:

  • The difference between arithmetic grids and geometric grids: Arithmetic grids have a fixed price difference between each grid, making them more suitable for arbitrage in relatively small-range oscillations. Geometric grids have a fixed percentage price difference between each grid, making them more suitable for oscillating upward trends or larger-range oscillations.

3) Take Profit or Stop Strategy

Successfully created grid strategies can be viewed at the bottom of the grid Trading page. You can also perform 【Take Profit】 or 【Stop Strategy】 operations.

Take Profit: Select the corresponding grid strategy, tap 【Take Profit】 — 【Confirm】 to withdraw the profits already generated.

Trading Tips:

  • You can take profit without stopping the strategy.
  • On this page, you can also tap 【Strategy Details】 to view relevant data and other content.

Stop Strategy:Tap 【Strategy】【Spot Grid】 — select the grid strategy to stop and tap 【Stop Strategy】 — select the appropriate stop method then tap 【Confirm】.

Risk Warning:

  • You are advised to carefully read OKX's Grid Trading product description, reasonably assess your own risk tolerance, and make rational decisions.

Grid Operation Principle:

After a grid strategy is created, the system automatically runs a buy-low sell-high strategy based on your settings. The operation principle is as follows:

The pre-configured OKB parameters are as follows:

Lowest Price: 20 USDT

Highest Price: 30 USDT

Number of Grids: 10

Grid Mode: Arithmetic

Investment Amount: 1000 USDT

OKB/USDT price when strategy was created: 25.1 USDT

Phase 1: Initial Order Placement:

The system calculates each price level of the strategy as 20, 21, 22……28, 29, 30, then places buy orders at all prices except 30. If market depth is favorable, the buy orders at 26, 27, 28, 29 will be filled immediately and sell orders will be placed one grid level higher. After the strategy starts, the order placement will be: buy orders are placed at every price level from 20 to 25, and sell orders are placed at every price level from 27 to 30.

Phase 2: Strategy Execution:

If the market price falls below 25, the buy order at that level is filled (buy dip), and the system automatically places a sell order (sell rally) at the corresponding upper position of the 25–26 grid (i.e., the 26 level). If the price rises, a buy order is placed at the corresponding lower position after the sell order is filled.

As the orders are placed and filled cyclically with market fluctuations, you can continuously earn returns from oscillating markets — each trade earns the profit of one grid.

V. Strategy Trading Series — Coin Savings Plan

Preface: We often have this speculation: In a bull market, there are many digital assets that surge significantly. If you could continuously capture coins with large gains, such as catching one that doubles every month, your assets would become 2 to the 12th power, or 4096 times, after a year. This is truly staggering, and of course, it is nearly impossible to achieve, because it is difficult to continuously capture surging coins. This is also a common problem many users face: In a bull market, although
