How to Switch DNS to Improve Network Stability

This tutorial teaches you how to switch DNS on **Windows10, **Windows****8. 1,Windows7, Mac OS operating systems to enhance system stability and achieve a better operational experience.

Windows10 and Windows8. 1

1. Right-click "This Computer", then select "Properties". After entering the Windows system interface, select the "Control Panel Home" option on the left side, as shown below

2. Click the "Network and Internet" option in the Control Panel, as shown below;

3. Select "Network and Sharing Center", as shown below;

4. In the Network and Sharing Center interface, click the currently connected network name, as shown in the diagram:

5. In the pop-up window, select "Properties", as shown in the diagram;

6. Next, find "IPv4 Protocol" in the network properties and check it, then click "Properties", as shown in the diagram

7. Select the following DNS server, enter the required address (Alibaba Cloud Public DNS: 223. 5. 5. 5 or 223. 6. 6. 6), click the "OK" button, DNS setting is successful, as shown in the diagram;

Windows7

1. First open the Network and Sharing Center, usually by clicking the network icon on the taskbar with your mouse. If the taskbar does not display the network icon, you can click the "Open Control Panel" button shown in My Computer window.

2. After opening the Control Panel, click the "Network and Sharing Center" in the list.

3. Click the "Local Connection" button in "Network and Sharing Center".

4. In the pop-up dialog box, click the "Properties" button.

5. In the opened dialog box, double-click the Internet protocol name for which you want to modify DNS. Currently, protocol version 4 is commonly used.

6. In the opened interface, click to select the "Use the following DNS server addresses" option, then enter the DNS address you want to set. (Alibaba Cloud Public DNS: 223. 5. 5. 5 or 223. 6. 6. 6)

Mac OS

1. Click the System Preferences option

2. Then select the "Network" option

3. Click "Ethernet" on the left side, select the "Advanced" option button at the bottom right

4. Select "DNS"

5. Click the add button at the bottom left

6. Manually set the DNS address you need (Alibaba Cloud Public DNS: 223. 5. 5. 5 or 223. 6. 6. 6), then click "OK" to return to the previous page, then click the "Apply" button to save the changes.
